Is Your Child or Teen Struggling With How They Are Feeling?

Does your child keep their emotions locked inside, even when you know something's wrong? Many children and teens find it difficult to put their feelings into words, leaving them anxious, confused, or overwhelmed. As parents, watching your child struggle can be heartbreaking—and you might feel unsure how to help.

You're not alone, and there is support available.

Child and Teen Therapy in Brierley Hill

I provide children and teen therapy for young people aged 8 through to adulthood. In a safe, welcoming space, I help them understand and navigate their emotions. Every child is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet your child exactly where they are.

Signs Your Child Might Benefit from Therapy

You might notice?

  • Your child keeps their feelings locked inside, even when you can tell something's wrong
  • They seem anxious about fitting in or worry constantly about what others think
  • Big changes or transitions feel overwhelming for them
  • They're being hard on themselves or doubting their abilities
  • The confident child you once knew seems to have disappeared
  • They want to belong so badly that they're losing sight of who they really are
As children grow and develop, so much is happening in their inner world that we can't always see. Maybe your child used to be outgoing but now seems withdrawn. Perhaps your teen puts on a brave face but you sense they're battling self-doubt. Or maybe they're desperately trying to fit in and be liked, but it's affecting their confidence and sense of self.

Understanding Your Child's Inner World

As children grow, so much happens in their inner world that we can't always see. Maybe your once-outgoing child now seems withdrawn. Perhaps your teen puts on a brave face but you sense they're battling self-doubt. Or they're desperately trying to fit in, but it's affecting their confidence and sense of self.

The teenage years can feel like an emotional rollercoaster. Social pressures, friendship drama, and figuring out where they belong can leave young people feeling lost and overwhelmed.
As a parent, you want your child to feel confident in their own skin—to handle life's challenges without losing themselves trying to fit in. You want them to know they're enough, exactly as they are.

How Therapy Can Help Your Child or Teen

In our sessions, I will help your child:
  • Learn to understand their emotions - Using games, stories, and creative activities to help them identify feelings and understand why they occur
  • Develop healthy coping strategies - Teaching practical tools for managing anxiety and big emotions at home and school
  • Build genuine self-confidence - Through play, art, and conversation, helping them reconnect with their strengths and celebrate what makes them special
  • Practice emotional regulation - Guiding them through breathing techniques and calming strategies for better emotional control
  • Navigate life changes confidently - Supporting them through transitions step-by-step, making scary changes feel manageable
  • Strengthen their sense of self - Helping your child rediscover who they are beyond others' expectations
  • Understand healthy relationships - Teaching how to form genuine friendships while staying true to themselves
  • Find their sense of belonging - Discovering they can fit in without losing who they are
  • Feel truly heard and understood - Providing a safe, non-judgmental space where their thoughts and feelings matter

I understand that the idea of therapy can feel scary, to help with them, I allow for you as the adult to remain present for some of the first session.
