Hey, I'm Demi
Thanks for being here
I offer people a space to be heard, working together to help them trust themselves, and to feel better.
I am a highly experienced integrative therapist, working with people who have low self esteem, low self confidence and lack trust in themselves. I work with people to understand and hear themselves more. They can then start to live a live that better aligns with their wants and needs.
If you are reading this, I’m guessing you are struggling trying to cope with something alone. I became a therapist as a result of experiencing struggles with my own self-acceptance and I know how difficult it can be to find support. My journey through therapy showed me how positive and powerful it can be. The influence it can have on relationships, as well as our sense of happiness in life. I have learned to trust in the process even when things are painful – as there is growth from those dark and difficult places.
I've lived and worked in the West Midlands for as long as I can remember, Whilst studying I worked with a National Children's Charity where I was privileged enough to be there in times when they needed someone to talk to. I have worked in the same mental health charity since my university days ended. I work on a mental health helpline, and what I love about it is that every day is different. I might be helping someone manage their anxiety, providing a listening ear to someone who's feeling lonely, or helping someone in crisis. I have seen first-hand the power of being heard and feeling supported. It changes lives.
On a person level I am a daughter, friend and dog mum. Sometimes an over-eager student and a recovering perfectionist! With this said at the centre of my many roles and responsibilities, like you, I am human and continuously learning growing and understanding myself helping you to do the same.
You'll often catch me at the park or having a well-earned breather in a coffee shop. I could have said a relaxed walk in the park, but that thought wouldn't have been entirely truthful, these kinds of walks are few and far between with a Labrador who thinks more of the world is edible than it is.
